Local Dishes Of Akwa Ibom

Akwa Ibom is well known Nationally for its exciting and rich culture. As the state lies within the tropical rain forest zone, vegetables and sea food and also domestic Animals dominates her.
     Some foods in Akwa Ibom along side soups includes Edikaikong, Editan, Ekpang Nkukwo, Atama( Efik version of Banga soup), Ukwogho Etidot(bitter leaf soup), Abak Nmong Nmong Ikong, Vnam Ntong, Otong, Iwuk Edesi(native jollof rice), Edita Iwa and many others.
      Amongst all these delicacies, Ayan Ekpang(steamed cocoyam) will be discussed. Ayan Ekpang is nicely eaten with families and friends. Nursing mothers use this soft food to get their toodlers into family diet.
     It is a dish of Efik and Ibibios, this meal goes well with Otong (Okro & Ugwu soup) and Banga  soup. The ingredients includes water Yam, Okro, Shrimps, fresh Fish, Onions, Crayfish, pepper, palm oil, and Uziza leaf.
     Ayan Ekpang is relished by many and contains the basic classes of food, the flavour and taste are heavenly mouth watering. The cocoyam used in preparing the dish has about half the calories you will find in the same quantity of yam. The cocoyam can be boiled, pounded or roasted.
Another meal to be discussed a special kind of jollof rice uniquely cooked and eaten mostly by the natives of Akwa Ibom.
     Ekpang nkukwo is Infact one of the major food especially on special occasions like weddings ceremonies. It's more porridge with rich ingredients like periwinkle, coco yam, water yam. The water yam, coco yam will be grated and wrapped in the coco yam leafs, and it has irresistible look and

Unique Nigerian Dish, Ondo state: pupuru delicacy)

      Pupuru is commonly consumed by the people of riverine area of the western, southern,eastern and middle belt of Nigeria where it is known as "Ikwurikwu". It is an African traditional fermented smoked dried cassava food commonly consumed in south western Nigeria most especially people of Ondo State. It is not like garri, lafun or fufu which are all locally made from cassava but it has cassava as a common ingredient.
