Sweets and dessert Thursday!!! (Cake pudding)



Hmmm yummy!!! It's here again, Our sweets and dessert Thursday is on vanilla flavoured cake pudding, it is a classic comfort dessert and easy to make. It’s best to serve it hot or warm and  you can also serve with a sauce which procedure is below as you scroll down or melted chocolate drizzled gently on the cake pudding and also fresh or frozen berries

Ingredients:

SAUCE:
1 1/2 cup (375ml) Milk
1/2 cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
2 tsp  cornstarch
1/2 tsp vanilla

CAKE PUDDING:
300g Flour
250g Granulated sugar
Levelled tspn Baking powder
Salt
4 Eggs
50g Milk
200 Butter 
1 1/2 tspn Vanilla flavour

PREPARATION:
STEP1. Preheat oven to (180°C). Butter a (2 L) square or circular glass baking dish or pan.
STEP2.In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. 
STEP3. In another bowl, whisk together egg, milk, butter and vanilla. Pour over dry ingredients and stir just until moistened. 
STEP4. Sauce: Transfer 1 tbsp of the milk to a small bowl. Heat remaining milk and sugar for 2 to 3 min or until steaming in a glass measuring cup in microwave or in saucepan over medium heat on stove-top. Add cornstarch and vanilla to reserved milk; drizzle into hot milk mixture, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Set aside. Note: you can also use melted chocolate drizzle on top of the pudding, or take alongside ice cream. Hmmm you just have to love it!
STEP5. Spread into prepared baking dish. Gently pour warm milk mixture that was set aside earlier over cake batter without stirring.

Bake for about 30 mins or Let cool for at least 15 min. Serve hot or warm. Dust with icing sugar (if using).Scoop cake into serving bowls and spoon pudding sauce over 
>TIPS
The pudding forms on the bottom while this cake bakes. It’s best to serve it hot or warm before pudding soaks into the cake so plan to put into the oven before you sit down to dinner and it will be just right at dessert time.
