Food safety involves handling, processing, storing of food to prevent any form of contamination or infection. It involves making food safe for human consumption. Health agencies have use several medium to pass food safety message to all most especially be signifying its importance.
It reduces food borne disease which has led to loss of several lives over the years. Few illness has been proven to be due to contamination in food consumed.

USDA recommends four important rule of food safety
-Wash hands and surface often.
-Separate and don't cross contaminate food. separate raw meats,seafood, fish, egg product and vegetables away from ready to eat food.
-Cook raw meat and food properly at right temperature to kill any harmful material that may be present.
-Regulate and chill food promptly

Pupuru is commonly consumed by the people of riverine area of the western, southern,eastern and middle belt of Nigeria where it is known as "Ikwurikwu". It is an African traditional fermented smoked dried cassava food commonly consumed in south western Nigeria most especially people of Ondo State.
